Recently, threenew models of the DongfengNano Box, a compact pure electric SUV, were officially launched in China by Dongfeng EV. The Nano Box is a specialized unit under the Dongfeng Group that focuses on small pure electric vehicles and is currently developing a new platform for these vehicles.
Originally developed by Renault and known as the Ren Kwid, the electric variant is called the City K-ZE. This car is produced in China byDongfeng-Ren and exported to Europe as the Dacia Spring. Dongfeng's range includes various other versions such as the Dongfeng Aeolus EX1, Dongfeng Fengxing T1, Dongfeng Fengguang E1, Venucia e30, and the Dongfeng Nano Box. All are manufactured at the same facility.
For those familiar with the Dacia Spring, the Nano Box offers a similar value proposition. It features a single motor producing 33 kW (45 PS) and 125 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h (31 mph) in just 6 seconds. The battery has a 27.2 kWh capacity, charging from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.
Inside, the Nano Box boasts a 7-inch instrument cluster display, a 10-inch infotainment screen, and a dual-color design that mirrors its exterior aesthetics. The vehicle seats four with a 2+2 configuration. Its dimensions are 3,732 mm (146 inches) in length, 1,579 mm (62.1 inches) in width, and 1,515 mm (59.6 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,423 mm (95.3 inches).
The Nano Box is powered by a front-mounted motor that produces 33 kW and 125 Nm of torque.
Dongfeng
reports the car's official 0-50 km/h acceleration time is 6 seconds. The lithium iron phosphate battery from CATL has a 15.97 kWh capacity, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 201 km. The basic model supports slow charging, taking 3 hours for a full charge, while the other models support fast charging, achieving a full charge in just 0.53 hours.
