Recently, threenew models of theDongfeng Nano Box, a compact pure electric SUV, were officially introduced in China by Dongfeng EV. This subsidiary of Dongfeng Group is dedicated to the development of small electric vehicles and is in the process of creating a new platform for such vehicles.
Originally conceptualized by Renault as the Ren Kwid, the electric version, known as the City K-ZE, is manufactured in China byDongfeng-Ren and has been exported to Europe as the Dacia Spring. Additionally, Dongfeng produces various other versions under different brands, including the Dongfeng Aeolus EX1, Dongfeng Fengxing T1, Dongfeng Fengguang E1, Venucia e30, and the Dongfeng Nano Box-all produced in the same facility.
As expected with the Dacia Spring lineage, the Nano Box offers a balanced mix of features and affordability. Equipped with a single motor generating 33 kW (45 PS) and a peak torque of 125 Nm, it accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h (31mph) in just 6 seconds. While the 0 to 100 km/h time isn't specified, the vehicle is powered by a 27.2 kWh battery that charges from 30% to 80% in merely 30 minutes.
The interior features a 7-inch instrument cluster display and a 10-inch infotainment screen, both complementing the dual-color exterior design. It comfortably accommodates four passengers in a 2+2 seating configuration.
